***PMG Potter is on a campaign to do away with six day delivery. The best way to ruin the Postal Service, is to take away part of the Service. That is exactly what 5 day delivery would do. What management forgets often, is that the Postal Service is a SERVICE for the American people. It is not the United States Postal Business. We should all strive to "keep the Service, in the Postal Service. Please visit the following link put up by NPMHU Local 300 to see how we can fight this change PMG Potter is fighting for. CLICK HERE

GAO Report - Attacks Postal Labor
The GAO produced a report on the Postal Service entitled "Strategies and Options to Facilitate Progress toward Financial Viability." The GAO's report was a full-throated attack on collective bargaining including; salaries, COLA, sub-contracting, more part-time positions.
GAO outlines a series of disastrous future options, including moving part or all of USPS to “a private corporate model;” increasing “the percentage of part-time employees, who could work more flexible schedules” and allow the USPS to flexibly adjust to workload, “which varies greatly depending on the day of the week and the time of the year;” and changing the law’s contract arbitration rules to harm Postal Unions. These are only some of their proposals. To view the entire GAO Report click here.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. Often called the "congressional watchdog," GAO investigates how the federal government spends taxpayer dollars.
